Doniger develops 213 apartments in Arenapoort Amsterdam South-East
01 April 2021

Doniger Urban Developments is building 213 apartments in ArenAPoort in Amsterdam Zuidoost. For the construction of the new 55-metre high residential tower, the demolition of the vacant MN office building at Hoogoorddreef 28-40 started last week. Plegt-Vos will start the realisation of The Framebuilding before the summer.

The new construction will be partly built on the existing parking garage and roof garden of the monumental former ING head office Het Zandkasteel and against an existing apartment complex of housing corporation Ymere. The design was made by Roberto Meyer and Thijs van de Straat of MVSA-Architects. According to both parties, the new construction is an ultimate example of urban densification within the existing infrastructure.

The Framebuilding will comprise a total of 213 rental properties, of which 69 social rental properties, 37 rental properties in the middle segment and 107 private sector rental properties. The apartments vary in size from 28 m2 to 90 m2.
