ESG

Doniger sees sustainability as a broad social responsibility that goes beyond responsible material use and energy-efficient design. Our approach to ESG combines environmentally conscious development, social engagement and responsible entrepreneurship. Developing a liveable, sustainable city means creating opportunities for future generations in the Netherlands of tomorrow.

Putting a socially inclusive city first

Doniger puts liveability first when developing in an increasingly crowded city. A building is part of the city’s social fabric. From architectural choices and resident participation to property management, Doniger stands out by prioritising social considerations and the long term. This is how we contribute to the city of tomorrow.

Our pillars

Environment

We give outdated office sites a new lease of life. Through circular construction, material reuse and the use of recycled and bio-based materials, we create energy-efficient homes without gas connections and with a low carbon footprint. In doing so, we reduce our environmental impact and strengthen Amsterdam’s urban fabric for the long term.

Social

We develop mixed housing schemes with social and mid-market rental homes, working with social partners such as the Salvation Army to accommodate a wide range of residents. By securing affordable rental housing as a lasting part of our portfolio, we contribute to an accessible and diverse city, including in neighbourhoods undergoing change.

Innovation

As an investor with a long-term horizon and our own capital, we take responsibility for the choices we make. We focus on careful decision-making, sustainable partnerships, and long-term value creation, while making room for innovation, high-quality architecture, and flexible living concepts. Our aim is to create places that last for generations and retain their value.
