This former office building, completed in 2001, was originally occupied by Amsterdam’s municipal tax department. In March 2017, Doniger acquired the property on the corner of Bijlmerdreef and Flierbosdreef in Amsterdam Zuidoost.
Doniger secured a new zoning plan from the City of Amsterdam to convert the office building into a residential building. Two newly built floors were also added on top of the existing structure.
The development comprises 397 studios and urban apartments, most with a usable floor area of between 32 and 48 m², fully aligned with Amsterdam’s housing and sustainability policies. Approximately 80% of the apartments are let in the social rental segment, with the remaining 20% in the regulated mid-market rental segment.
Construction started in 2020 and all apartments were completed by the end of 2022. The lively ground-floor spaces offer just under 3,000 m² of lettable floor area, accommodating food and beverage venues, a medical centre, the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA) and a wide range of amenities for residents.
