Landgoed Bloemenheuvel, built around 1845, is set in the green surroundings of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, yet is only a few hundred metres from the A12 motorway. The estate covers more than five hectares, is a locally listed heritage site and has been used as offices over the past decade.
The acquisition of 8,000 m² of adjoining land from the municipality of Driebergen in 2018 helped Landgoed Bloemenheuvel obtain recognised estate status under the Dutch estate legislation (Natuurschoonwet, NSW). The existing buildings have been extensively renovated and all upgraded to energy label A. All buildings are now let as office space or business centres.
In due course, Doniger expects to be able to expand the estate’s current use by developing a complex of 28 new apartments with care services.
