De Noordkaap is a mixed-use residential and office building in Amsterdam Noord, directly beside the A10 exit. It offers views towards the city to the south-west and towards Monnickendam and the IJmeer to the north-east.
The office building, dating from 1976, is leased on a long-term basis to the Salvation Army. The top four floors, floors 9–12, are used as offices, while the eight floors below were converted into apartments in 2017.
The ground floor accommodates shared amenities, including a second-hand clothing shop and “Bij Bosshardt”, a neighbourhood meeting place where visitors can also enjoy a meal.
On the southern part of the 2,400 m² site, Doniger has initiated the development of a new residential tower, Zuidkaap.
