The Noordkaap

A mixed residential and office building, ‘De Noordkaap’ is located in Amsterdam North, right next to the A10 motorway exit with a view of the city on the southwestern side and in the direction of Monnikendam and the IJmeer on the northeastern side. The office building (1976) is being leased long term by the Salvation Army Foundation: the top four floors (9th-12th) are being used as offices, the eight lower floors were transformed into residences in 2017. On the ground floor, we find general facilities, like a secondhand clothing shop and ‘Bij Bosshardt’, a neighbourhood meeting place where you can also have a meal. On the southern part of the 2,400 m2 plot, Doniger has initiated the development of a new-build residential tower (De ‘Zuidkaap’).
