Oude Haven van Huizen

The current location of Coronel Kartracing on the Havenstraat in Huizen will, if it is up to the owners, make way for housing. Doniger Urban Developments, also co-owner of the land, has been appointed as delegated developer.

Where the go-kart track is still located and various children’s and adult activities take place, there will be about 24 apartments. A striking feature of the plan is that it is tailored to target groups that currently can hardly find suitable residentials in the municipality: starters on the housing market, singles and seniors whose children have left home. Two-thirds (160 apartments) fall in the affordable segment (social and middle rental).

The landmark Du Crocq building will be restored to its former glory and will provide space for loft apartments and studios for single households.

Havenstraat will have a lively plinth with space for, for example, a fish store with terrace, bike rental and/or yoga studio.
