Haven van Huizen

The current location of Coronel Kartracing on the Havenstraat in Huizen will, if it is up to the owners, make way for housing. Doniger Urban Developments, also co-owner of the land, has been appointed as delegated developer.

Where the go-kart track is still located and various children’s and adult activities take place, the plan focuses on housing that is carefully integrated into the environment. The plan is tailored to target groups that are currently unable to find a suitable home in the municipality: starters on the housing market, singles and seniors whose children have left home. At least half of the homes are in the affordable segment (social and mid-market rental). In mid-2022, Doniger submitted the plan to the Municipality with a request to the Municipal Executive to respond to the plan. Since then, Doniger has been in constructive talks with the Municipality to reach workable agreements.

In total, there are approximately 300 homes on the site, spread over 8 or 9 buildings. On the port side, the building height is 12 to 13 metres, in the middle of the plan area it rises to 28 metres.
