Doniger Urban Developments and Camelot purchase office in Southeast Amsterdam to convert
03 March 2017

Doniger Urban Developments and Camelot Real Estate have purchased a 16,500 m2 office building at 395 Bijlmerplein and 2-12 Flierbosdreef to convert into about 400 independent studios for social housing.

The building is located above a large Albert Heijn and borders on the shopping centre Amsterdamse Poort.

Olaf Terpstra, developer at Camelot: Since 2009, next to traditional management and the protection of vacant real estate, our team of developers has specialised in advising, investing and converting vacant real estate into much needed affordable housing for starters and students, so the assignment to convert Flierbosdreef fits well into our specialisation.

We expect the project to be finished by the end of 2018. This investment in creating housing units will contribute to the improvement of the neighbourhood, that has been underway for some time. This plan will also help the growing shortage of social housing in Amsterdam, without compromising quality or liveliness.”

Appelhoven Real Estate advisors, who were already involved two years ago in the purchase of the building, acted as advisors for the purchasers.
