Doniger and Camelot purchase office building on the Bijlmerdreef in Southeast Amsterdam
16 April 2018

Doniger Urban Developments and Camelot Real Estate have purchased a 5,483 m2 office building at 101 Bijlmerdreef in Southeast Amsterdam from Cromwell Property Group. The same partners are developing 800 homes in the Southeast.

The office building is located in the Arenapoort, an area that in the coming years will be converted into a high quality mixed-use area where leisure, shopping, work and housing are combined. Doniger will act as the delegated developer, on behalf of the consolidation. With the city council and MVSA Architects we will research how we can fullfil the urban compression assignment sustainably.

Astrid Sijmonsbergen (Doniger) :“The plan is to redevelop part of the building, by dismantling and new construction, into housing in line with Amsterdam’s housing policy: 80% is built for low and middle incomes. We are happy to be able to contribute to the extremely pressing need of housing for the people of Amsterdam.”

Furthermore, by redevelopment you achieve the possibility to improve the connection between a shopping area and the surrounding areas and to add quality to public space. “We will do that in close consultation with all the stakeholders in the area so that we can provide a maximum response to all local wishes and needs.”

Appelhoven Real Estate Advisors has supervised this transaction on behalf of the purchaser. HMK notaries was involved in the conclusion of this transaction.
